Saladas de Sástago-Bujaraloz
The Sástago-Bujaraloz Salt Flats constitute, like the Gallocanta Lagoon, , Las Saladas de Chiprana and Los Tremedales de Orihuela, one of the four Aragonese wetlands included in the list of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, especially as Waterfowl Habitat (Ramsar Convention) .
Administratively they belong to the municipalities of Sástago and Bujaraloz, from which they take their name, between the regions of Los Monegros and Ribera Baja del Ebro, in the province of Zaragoza.
They are located in the Ebro valley, in the Monegros desert area, on an extensive endorheic basin. It consists of a lagoon complex on a saline meadow formed by 99 depressions that are temporarily flooded to a greater or lesser extent, although the Ramsar Site only protects 26 of these basins.
