Iralabarri is a district of Bilbao. Located in the Rekelde district of Bilbao, namely the seventh district. The neighborhood had 11,696 inhabitants and an area of u200bu200b0.39 square kilometers (according to the data provided by the city council of Bilbao in 2006). It borders Rerekaldeberri to the south, Abando to the north, Zabala district to the northeast, the A-8 highway to the west, and Zabalburu to the east.

Irala was a rural area, there were farms and gardens. One of them is the Urizar tower house. On the other hand, XX. At the beginning of the 20th century, during the beginnings of industrialization, companies used to build houses for their employees. Harino Panadera, which was one of the main factories producing bread in Bilbao, also wanted to do the same, and for that purpose it built houses for its workers in the Iralabarri district. This new neighborhood had three-story blocks of flats and large courtyards with gardens.

However, in the following decades, due to the influence of the old immigrants who came to the city, the neighborhood was built without any order, the need to build on ramps led to narrow streets with no light. However, in recent years several improvements have been made there and a park has been built near the A-8 highway, the Eskurtze park.
