De naam Kokborok van Unakoti is zoals geclaimd door Jamatia Hoda; Unakoti-heuvel betekent letterlijk een koti minder in het Hindi en Bengaals, herbergt een oude Shaivite-gebedsplaats met enorme rotsreliëfs ter ere van Shiva. Het is gelegen in de Kailashahar-onderverdeling van het Unakoti-district, Tripura
