Republikken Kenya er et land ved ekvator i Øst-Afrika. En stor del av landet var britisk koloni fram til 1963 under navnet Britisk Øst-Afrika. Det grenser mot Tanzania i sør, Uganda i vest, Sør-Sudan i nordvest, Etiopia i nord, Somalia i nordøst og Indiahavet i sørøst.
Viktige importvarer er olje, jern, plast og maskiner. Viktige eksportvarer er kaffe, frukt, te og sement. De viktigste handelspartnerne er USA, Storbritannia, Tyskland, Japan og Uganda.
Kenya har et rikt dyreliv og en fantastisk natur, noe som har gjort at landet har utviklet seg som et turistmål.
Hovedstaden er Nairobi.
