The Torre de Sant Joan is an old defense tower located in the town of Poble Nou del Delta in the municipality of Amposta (Montsià). It was built in 1576 by order of Felipe II to defend against attacks by Saracen piracy. The tower is in a rather poor state of preservation, with the wall walls half-demolished.
