El Poblenou del Delta

Description

El Poblenou del Delta, also called El Poble Nou del Delta is a town in the municipality of Amposta (Montsià) in the region of Montsià. It was created as a colonization town, designed by the architect José Borobio between 1954 and 1956, and was inaugurated in 1957 with the official name of Villafranco del Delta, giving - the settlers were given 96 houses with the corresponding plots of land to cultivate. In 2003 the Generalitat de Catalunya changed the original name to the current one.

The village is characterized by its landscaped streets and colonization houses with interior patios within the perimeter formed by whitewashed walls.
