The Avencs de la Febró are a set of open cracks in the Sierra de la Mussara, within the area of u200bu200bla Febró (Baix Camp). Formed by three main cracks, oriented north-south parallel to the cliff, the most prominent has a maximum length of about 290 meters, 35 meters deep and between 3-6 meters wide. Inside there are two caves and other smaller cavities, one quite large of karst origin, which was full of stalactites that were torn out to build the farmhouse of Macià Vilà in Reus. Smugglers hid there and, according to tradition, General Joan Prim in 1843.
