Context of Himálaj

Himálaj (sanskrtem हिमालय) je pohoří v Asii, které odděluje Indický subkontinent od Tibetské náhorní roviny. V tomto pohoří se nachází deset ze čtrnácti nejvyšších vrcholů světa, takzvaných osmitisícovek. Nejvyšší horou Himálaje i světa je Mount Everest (8 849 m n. m.). Pohoří zasahuje na území Pákistánu, Číny, Indie, Nepálu a Bhútánu.
