Szent György-hegy
The Szent György-hegy, German Saint George's Mountain, is a mountain in the Hungarian municipality of Tapolca, not far from Lake Balaton.
It is of volcanic origin and basalt columns can be seen in several places. It is a small stratovolcano of Pannonian volcanism in the Neogene.
Several hiking trails lead up, including a blue-marked circular trail that starts at the Lengyel-kápolna chapel on the southern slope of the mountain . There are picnic benches and a viewing board at the summit. From here you have a panoramic view of Lake Balaton, the town of Tapolca and several other mountains of volcanic origin, including Badacsony.
