Description

The Lithang Monastery or Chamchen Chökhorling Monastery (Jamchen Chokhorling) is an important monastery of the Gelug school in the Tibetan cultural region of Kham. It is located in Litang (Lithang) County, which is part of the Garzê (Kardze) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Sichuan Province. The monastery was founded in 1580 by the 3rd Dalai Lama.

It was rebuilt after the Cultural Revolution.
