The Born Center for Culture and Memory, located in the old Mercat del Born, is a 21st century cultural facility that shows the lively and dynamic Barcelona of 1700 and the events of 1714 in the context of the War of Succession. The site contains the remains of the neighborhood demolished by Felipe V. It is a multipurpose public access space with an extensive program that aims to invite reflection on the past, present and future of Barcelona and of Catalonia. The Born Center for Culture and Memory was the epicenter of the events commemorating the Tercentenary in Barcelona, u200bu200bwhich took place between September 2013 and September 2014.
