Description

El pont d'August és un pont de la ciutat de Dresden, a l'estat de Saxònia a Alemanya.

Travessant el riu Elba, el pont de la carretera connecta l'Innere Neustadt al nord (marge dreta) amb el centre històric de la ciutat al sud (marge esquerra).

Hi ha un pont al mateix lloc almenys des del segle XII. Sota el rei August II el Fort de Polònia i Saxònia, es va construir un nou pont de gres amb 12 arcs entre 1727 i 1731. Aquest pont va ser substituït per l'actual, també de gres, pont de 9 arcs per tal de proporcionar una obertura més àmplia al trànsit fluvial. . Va ser dissenyat per Wilhelm Kreis i Theodor Klette.

Tres línies de tramvia del Dresdner Verkehrsbetriebe passen pel pont d'August. Tots estan actualment (2019) desviats per obres de reconstrucció.

El pont actual es va construir entre 1907 i 1910.
